Isaiah Leggett is a Montgomery County icon! Join WDC as we celebrate "Ike,” who has given his best to our County for a record-breaking 28 years. A dedicated County Councilman and Executive with a progressive vision, he was the first African American elected to these leadership positions. In tough budget times he worked to balance the budget while preserving, and even expanding, valuable programs like affordable housing for low and moderate income residents. "Celebrators" include Senator Chris Van Hollen, Representative Jamie Raskin, Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh, Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker,,Catherine Leggett, Dr. Susan Leggett Johnson, and Dr. Teresa Schwartz. We will also be joined by Democratic Nominee for Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. The event will open with a cash bar at 5:30, followed by dinner at 6:00 with the evening’s program following the meal.
