The Women’s Legislative Briefing (WLB) is the premier and longest-standing women’s legislative event in the state of Maryland. It is coordinated by the Montgomery County Commission for Women and brings together advocates, policy makers, and emerging leaders to empower, engage, and mobilize Marylanders around issues affecting women and girls throughout the state.

The MLAW fall conference will be held on Saturday, November 17, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm at Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore. WDC is a member of the Maryland Legislative Agenda for Women (MLAW). MLAW’s annual Fall Legislative Conference “Thinking Globally, Acting Locally…What Rights Are at Stake at the Federal Level and What Maryland Can Do to Protect Them” provides an opportunity to hear State legislators and advocacy groups discuss their goals and priorities. In tough budget times he worked to balance the budget while preserving, and even expanding, valuable programs like affordable housing for low and moderate income residents. "Celebrators" include Senator Chris Van Hollen, Representative Jamie Raskin, Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh, Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker, Catherine Leggett, Dr. Susan Leggett Johnson, and Dr. Teresa Schwartz,.
